I passed the SOA course 5 exam!!!!
I had almost forgotten what it felt like to pass; my last passing grade was exactly three years ago - on the Course 4 exam in the Fall 2001 sitting.

Why did you decide to go with the SOA and not CAS?
Actually, my main interests still lie on the casualty side. However, my current employer is in the pension industry so they do not support CAS exams. So there ya go...
Why not find a new employer that better coincides with your interests?
I am generally happy with my employer, and casualty jobs at my level of seniority for candidates with 4 casualty exams are not exactly plentiful.
(Is there some reason your comments are anonymous?)
They are only anonymous because I don't have a blogspot account. My name is Adam and I am a Junior at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign majoring in Math & Computer Science. I just passed the first actuary exam and am looking into a career as an actuary.
Have you checked out www.beanactuary.com; there are some good actuary profiles there.
